Does anyone have any more details or photos of The Tamblin' Waukas?
The lead singer had tons of energy and used to hurl himself round the stage. They played what might have been a forerunner of heavy metal - a cross between Led Zeppelin and The Who ? and was quite different to the sound produced by most bands around at that time.
New information (January 2023) from Peter Terrell:
"The Tamblin' Waukas line-up was: Andy Shakeshaft on vocals, Ray McDermott on guitar, Dave Penn on bass and Peter Terrell on drums. We played all over Croydon in the sixties. Places such as The Star at Broad Green, The Gun in Croydon Market, Chislehurst Caves and The Addington Hotel spring to mind. No pics I'm afraid."
